PCUMC is now certified by Careforthetroops.org as a “Veteran Friendly Congregation.” A VFC is a church congregation who makes a commitment to pursue a connection for and support of (in body, mind and spirit) our active duty service members, veterans, and their families. Within the church, we have formed a “Military Ministries Task Force” that will meet periodically to discuss and implement programs to support those who have sacrificed so much to protect our freedom and to keep us safe. Particularly in the months ahead, please pray for the Task Force as we ask God’s guidance in an effort to lead this ministry in a way that is pleasing to Him, as we work to join our congregation with our military and their families, and as we look forward to the blessings all will receive through this endeavor.

As a reminder, we also have an email ministry for members of the congregation called the “PCUMC Military Connection.” This is for anyone who would like to have a closer, more personal connection with our military men and women and their families (you don’t even have to know anything about the military to participate!). We use the email ministry to honor God by serving Him through: 1) the sharing of prayer requests, and 2) ideas, suggestions, and resources for helping and supporting military members, veterans, and their families. Occasionally, we’ll encourage group participation in local events. If you have been searching for where you feel God wants you to be, please prayerfully consider serving Him in this way. To be a part of this ministry, please send your name, email address and phone number to firstname.lastname@example.org.
