Planning to Visit?

Attending a worship service at an unfamiliar church can be a little intimidating. You might have questions, which we will try to answer here in order to make your first visit as enjoyable, stress-free and meaningful as possible.

We truly believe in practicing Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors. Every person is a beloved child of God and of sacred worth, and we strive to make that known in the way that we welcome every person into the church family called Pierce Chapel. Nothing in our past or present can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.  We invite all people into the way of Jesus Christ to grow together in Christian faith and go out into the world to serve!

Before You Arrive

Dress however you feel most comfortable. Some people wear “church clothes” or “office casual,” and some are in blue jeans in the winter and shorts in the summer.  Whatever the case, please just come as you are comfortable.

You can enter the church parking lot from Pierce Chapel Road. We have PLENTY of visitor parking spaces near the building in the west parking lot (the entrance nearest to Veterans Parkway).  A friendly person will be there to greet you when you arrive!

When You Enter Pierce Chapel

You will be warmly welcomed by greeters at any door. This person will help guide you through the church and help you figure out where you (and your children) would be most comfortable. Please feel free to take a Visitor Bag from the Welcome Center located in the center of the church.

Once you are seated, you will find in your program/bulletin a tear-off Connection Card. We’d love for you to fill out that Connection Card and place it in the offering plate during the service so that we can be in touch with you later.

Should you need a hearing assistance device during the service, they are available in the audio-visual booth at the back of the worship center.  Just come to the audio visual booth to request one. We want you to hear everything that’s going on!

If You Have Infants or Toddlers

Two choices are available:
1.   A “cry  room” with closed-circuit TV capability (Room 305) is available across the hall from the Worship Center for parents of infants and toddlers who wish to keep their children with them for the service but feel more comfortable in a more child-friendly environment.

2.    A nursery with loving, quality child care is available in Room 201 for infants to age 3. You can sign your child in to the nursery, receive a pager and know that your child is in loving hands while you worship and attend Sunday School.  You will be paged if our wonderful nursery staff need to reach you while your child is in their care.

If You Have Children or Youth

Please stop by the “Children’s Check-In Station” across from the Welcome Center to sign your children in when you arrive.  When your children are in our care, our top priority is their safety, so we want to know who you are and how we can contact you in case we need you.

Children age 3 through kindergarten…
Are invited to attend Children’s Church during the 8:30 & 11:00 a.m. worship services. Children share in the opening of worship and then at the appropriate time (as noted in the bulletin) will be escorted to Room 315 for their activities. On your first visit, you are encouraged to go with your children for a few minutes to meet their leaders and make sure you know where they are so that you can worship without worrying about them.

Children 1st grade through 4th grade…
Are invited to attend our older version of Children’s Church (called Vertical View) during the 8:30 & 11:00 a.m. worship services. Children share in the opening of worship and then at the appropriate time (as noted in the bulletin) will be escorted to the upstairs Chapel for their activities. On the first Sunday of the month, children 1st-4th grades remain in the worship service for communion.

Youth, ages 5th through 12th grades
Youth are encouraged to attend weekly worship with their families or as a group.

After the 8:30 a.m. Service…
You are invited for coffee and goodies that are provided in the Hospitality Room next to the Worship Center.

We want you to feel at home…

And hope you find Pierce Chapel to be a place where you can meet new friends, experience an inspiring worship service, and find many different opportunities that will help you encounter the love of Jesus Christ. Pierce Chapel is family-friendly and all generations are cherished. Whatever your background, even if you have never been to church before, WE WELCOME YOU!
